PAUL JIMENEZ Obituary

Paul B. Jimenez, 50, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2017. He was born on October 26, 1967 in El Centro CA. He is survived by his parents, Jacinto Jay and Virginia B. Jimenez, his son, Justin (Miranda) Jimenez and granddaughter ,Leilanii; siblings, Mircala (Mike) Kelsoe, Lorena (Wassim) ElChaarani, Jason (Teressa) Jimenez and Ted (Karina) Moreno; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He bravely served in the United States Navy from 1990-1996, with distinction as a Personnelman-PSSN (E-3) stationed in Alameda, CA. While in the Navy he was a member of the Small Craft Action Team (SCAT) and Helicopter Flight Deck Crews aboard the USS Arkansas CGN-41. Paul was awarded numerous recognitions and awards, including the Navy Achievement Medal. He is a veteran of the US Gulf War and the Kuwait Liberation. He proudly concluded his service in San Diego, CA. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Navy never left him, as friends and family will attest. Paul was very active in the LDS church. He magnified his Priesthood by holding many callings in church and by going out with missionaries to share his testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Paul is a well known sports fanatic. His favorite professional teams are the L.A. Lakers, Dodgers and Oakland Raiders. His college teams are Georgetown Hoyas and Alabama Crimson Tide. He was an avid runner and ran in any weather condition locally at Bucklin Park. He loved spending time with his family at BBQs and was always ready for a good game of dominoes. He is very much loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 7th, from 6 to 9 p.m., at Frye Chapel in Brawley, CA. Church services to honor Paul will be held on Friday, December 8th, at 9 a.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in El Centro, CA. at 8th and Ross and interred at Evergreen Cemetery.
