Of Grass Lake, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2004 at the age of 81 years. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Hilda; one son, Carl and Jeanette of Grass Lake; two granddaughters, Michelle Craft and Tonya Curtis; one great-granddaughter, Emma Craft; one sister and two brothers, Viola Wagner of Grass Lake, Russell (Doreen) Curtis of Jackson, Paul (Crystal) Curtis of Grass Lake; one sister-in-law, Anna (Roger) Ellis, and one brother-in-law, Floyd Brand; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Curtis was preceded in death by one sister, Irene Brand and one daughter-in-law, Laray Curtis. Mr. Curtis was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved the outdoors. He was a World Ward II Army Veteran Corps of Engineer 372 Company, having served in England, the Middle East and Africa. He was the recipient of three Bronze Stars. Services will be held at the funeral home Saturday, 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Grass Lake Oakwood (East) Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Hospice of Jackson & Oaklawn. Chas. J. Burden & Son 1806 E.
