Funeral services for Mr. Roy E. Alexander, age 78, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2015 in the chapel of Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home with Dr. John Farrar officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Bluff Cemetery.

Mr. Alexander passed away Friday, November 13, 2015 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital surrounded by his family.

Roy was born November 15, 1936 in Jackson, TN. He was employed for twenty four years as a Wildlife Technician 2 in the Fisheries Department with the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He loved coon hunting, farming, raising cattle and trading tractors. One of his proudest moments was when he recently had his family farm listed as Alexander Century Farm, est. 1893. Roy was a loving husband for fifty-nine years and a caring and devoted father to four girls. He loved his family and enjoyed spoiling his seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Robert and Alpha Alexander; sister, Dorothy Hart and brothers, J.R. and Gary Alexander.

Roy is survived by his wife, Eva Lois Johnson Alexander, whom he married in 1956; his four daughters, Vickie and Michael David, Pharra and Robert Hobbs, Jackie and Jeff Nyhouse and Cheryl and Keith Bowman; seven grandchildren, Ray, Alex, Ginger, Will, Clint, Chad and Dean and two great-grandchildren, Nick and Landon.
