Karen Kain, 51

Karen Kain, 51, of Fowler, passed away at 2:45 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2013, at St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette. Born September 16, 1961, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Jacqueline (McElfresh) Lewis. Karen married Gary Kain on Mary 28, 1987, in Indianapolis and he survives. For the past two years, Karen has been a server at The 100 Mile House in Fowler. And when she wasn't working and taking care of her customers, she would spend all of her time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

Surviving with her husband, Gary, are their two children, Jaime and Nick; her three grandchildren, Christopher, Mackensy and William. Karen is also survived by five sisters, Vicki, Cindy, Maryann, Susan and Jackie; and three brothers, Scott, Terry and Patrick.

Karen was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday, March 24, 2013, from 3 to 5 p.m. at The 100 Mile House in Fowler. Simplicity Funeral Care entrusted with care.
