Steven A. Hofstetter, 49

WASHINGTON, Ill. — Steven A. Hofstetter, 49, passed away at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, October 1, 2012, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born on May 12, 1963, in Logansport to Theodore and Lynetta Furrer Hofstetter. He married Tamara Zimmerman on September 26, 2004, in Hillside, Ill. Steven worked in technology and management roles around the world, most recently as Business Development Manager for the Korea Department at Caterpillar Inc.

He held degrees from Purdue University and MIT Sloan School of Management and several professional licenses. He enjoyed international cultures, home craftsmanship, computer technology and sharing these activities with his sons.

Steven loved God, shared that joy through music and had an unshakable faith throughout his battle with cancer. He now lives forever with his Lord in Heaven.

Those that will miss him the most are his wife and four sons, Luke, Joel, Levi, and Nathan, all at home; one brother, Keven (Ann) Hofstetter, of Washington; and one sister, Janell Hofstetter, of Elk Grove Village. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a member of the Washington Apostolic Christian Church where a funeral service is planned for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2012. Church ministers will officiate. Burial will be in Washington Apostolic Christian Cemetery.

There will be a visitation for Steven from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday at Deiters Funeral Home in Washington and from 1:00-1:45 p.m. on Saturday at the church.
