She was a tireless volunteer for many causes, including the Disabled American Veterans and the USO.
Mrs. House is mourned by her husband, Donald C. House of the home; four sons, Donald C. House Jr. and his wife, Pam of Bedford, Va., Richard A. House of Jacksonville, Kevin L. House and his wife, Tracy of Eden, and Brian K. House of Emerald Isle; one sister, Peggy Belcher of South Hill, Va.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel with the Rev. Mike Padgett officiating. Dear Don, Don Jr. and family, Kevin and family, Richard and family, and Brian and family...Our sincere sympathy for the loss of Helen, who was indeed a beautiful person, inside and out. I'm very grateful we got to know one another more and more over the past 10-15 years, and I only wish we had lived closer to one another. May the wonderful memories that I'm sure you have sustain you during this most difficult time. Tom and I continue to keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.
