A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel with the Rev. Errett Marshburn officiating. Burial with full military honors, will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
Mr. Miller was a Vietnam veteran having retired as a MSgt from the USMC after twenty years of honorable service. He also worked at Three Mile Island and retired from Volunteers of America. An accomplished musician and artist, Mr. Miller enjoyed challenging himself with all the different styles of painting. He attended Christian Life Fellowship in Jacksonville and Fountain of Life Fellowship in Middletown, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernie Henry Miller; his mother, Rita Mary Hynes; and his sister, Sheila A. Ferner.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Anne Celeste Hassinger Miller; one brother, Thomas John Miller and his wife, Clarice of N.Y.; two daughters, Elizabeth Dawn Musgrove and her husband, Warren of Jacksonville and Rebecca Ann Gonzalez and her husband, Angel of Florida; four sons, Norman Henry Miller Jr., and his wife, Tania of Montana, Duke Varden Miller of Jacksonville, Travis Lea Miller and his wife, Tammy of Jacksonville and Aaron David Miller of Pa.; five stepdaughters, Mary Elizabeth Ridgley, Laura April Clark and her husband, John, Dawn Michelle Rohrer, Deborah Kaye Hammaker and her husband, Dale, and Gretchen Nicole Newcomer and her husband, Brad, all of Pennsylvania; 17 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Monday afternoon, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
Following committal services, the family will receive friends for a time of fellowship at the home of Travis and Tammy Miller, 3253 Burgaw Hwy.

I enjoy looking at Norm´s portraits we have in our home. I have a lot of fond memories of working with him at Lowe´s in the good old days. He is missed.

Every time I look at Norm's paintings I remember working with him at Lowes and what a great guy he was. Enjoyed the visit my wife and I had with Anne and him in Jacksonville, NC.

Just talked to Jim Kent and he told me of Norms passing. You have our deepest sympathy. I always enjoyed the time I spent talking and working with Norm. I will cherish his paintings. We will keep you and your family in our prayers.

Sorry to hear of Norm's passing. I worked with Norm at Three Mile Island for many years. He is a great man and mentor. I enjoyed talking with Norm. He was very interesting. I will greatly miss him. May he be a leader in his new life.
