Linda Medina Obituary

ARCOLA - Linda Lou Medina, 43, of Arcola, IL passed away at 1:04 A.M. Tuesday, November 16, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her family. Funeral services will take place at Noon on Friday, November 18, 2011 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Arcola, IL. Father John Titus will officiate. Burial will be in the Upper Muddy Cemetery in rural Lerna, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to Noon on Friday, November 18, 2011 at the church. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Linda was born October 15, 1968 in Mattoon, IL. She was a daughter of Cecil Edward and Sarah Alice (Funkhouser) White. She married Jose Alfredo Medina April 12, 1986 in Arcola, IL. Survivors include her husband Jose Medina of Arcola, IL; four children Tiffany Nicole Medina-Hatchel and Chad Hood of Humboldt, IL, Sonia Ashley Alexander and her husband Derek and Tyler Joseph Medina all of Arcola, IL and Jose Alfredo Medina Jr. of St. Paul, MN; five grandchildren Brayden Hatchel and Isabella Hood and Ambrielle, Ava and Abigail Alexander; three brothers, Ron White and his wife Debbie of Mattoon, IL, Steve White, Dennis White and his wife Nicole all of Arcola, IL; three sisters Julia White, Cathy Gonzalez and Zelda Underwood all of Mattoon, IL; her God-daughters Stephany Helmuth of Arcola and Blanca Shonkwiler of Urbana, IL and many nieces and nephews. Her parents preceded her in death. Linda was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Arcola. Linda had worked at the Dutch Kitchen as a cook and enjoyed being a homemaker. She also enjoyed shopping, cooking and just spending time with her friends and family especially her grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Linda Medina Memorial Fund in care of First Mid-Illinois Bank and Trust. To leave an online condolence, please go to www.edwardsfh.net.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Linda and I were best friends in Middle School and High School and we had alot of good times. Even though I haven't talked to her in along time I think of her often. I am very sad for your loss and my prayers are with you.
