October 1, 1948 - November 5, 2024
Nick Charles Stokes, age 76, of Mattoon passed away on November 5, 2024 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
Funeral services honoring his life will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at the First Southern Baptist Church, 3521 Dewitt Avenue, Mattoon with Pastor John Coin officiating. Burial with Military Rites by the V.F.W. Post 4325 will follow at Dodge Grove Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the church. Schilling Funeral Home is assisting the family.

This was probably a year ago when I met Nick and his family in our Re-hab Unit at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center in Urbana, IL. He was a patient there for about 3 weeks in Re-hab. He was always so friendly and had a great sense of humor. He will certainly be missed by his family members and friends.
