JONESBORO - Joe Wayne Norris, 81, passed from this life Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2022, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro. Joe was born July 10, 1941, in Jonesboro to the late Olden and Mildred Norris. Joe graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1959.
He dearly loved all his classmates and he served on the reunion committee for 60 years. He attended Arkansas State University, where he studied accounting. Joe proudly served in the National Guard.
Joe Wayne married Janet Shepherd in 1966 and with this union, two daughters were born, Deborah Kathleen and Margaret Ann. He later married Linda Gross and added a bonus daughter Stacey.
Professionally, Joe worked in sales but retired as a plant accountant for Colson Casters in Monette.
Family was so important to Joe, and he would often share with his girls the fond memories of spending summers with his loving grandparents, Albert and Allie Norris, on the farm.
He was preceded by his parents, his wife Linda, and a sister-in-law, Ginny Norris.
He leaves to cherish his memory, daughters, Deborah (John) Pyland, Margaret Ann Norris and Stacey (Tanner) Kelley; brother, Steve Norris; sister, Mary Jane (Larry) Gladden; granddaughters, Madeline (Reid) McKenzie and Kadence and Kinsley Kelley; Barbara Widner, who has been a lifelong friend and companion for the last 12 years and her family who he dearly adored; his precious nieces and nephews, Rob (Katie) Norris, John (Katie) Norris, Shannon Lester, and Jonathon (Erica) Gladden and their son Killian.

I was so sorry to hear of Joe´s passing. I worked with Linda and that´s how I met Joe. He was a wonderful, thoughtful, funny and kind man.
