My Dad, W. Gerard Ahern, was a school friend of Everett's dad, Harold. Everett's grandfather worked for my grandfather, David Ahern in the Ahern Construction Co. Reading other comments, Everett continued the family's service and honor. He is a loss to family and friends, but Willimantic was better for his presence. Peace to you

Yesterday I was saddened to hear about Everett's passing. I will miss him greatly. He was a friend and a constant inspiration for me. Always a gentleman and the best America has to offer, he was very effective, a leader.
He would constantly joke about forgiving me for being an AFT member. I will always remember his leadership in raising the funds for the church renovation and his support for our efforts at the Windham Theatre Guild. I only wish that I had done more things with him. God be with you, Rose.

I just heard about Everett's passing. Everett was my immediate supervisor when I worked for the Connecticut Education Association. He was the kindest of men and very patient with me, given the challenges of the job, which were significant. I liked him very much and am so sorry he is gone. I know you will miss him so much, Rose, he must have been a wonderful husband.

Everett graduated from Eastern CT State University and was very loyal and dedicated in his service to the university. Everett served for many years on the ECSU Hall of Fame Committee, and received its distinguished Michael A. Atkind Service Award in 2012. Everett will be fondly remembered as an outstanding teacher, a devoted husband, a church and community worker, and a loyal friend.

Rose & Family:

We are in Florida and were very saddened to learn of Everett's passing. I was a classmate of his brother Richard in Natchaug School and Windham High School.
The Watsons were a fine old Willimantic family.
Everett was a good friend and mentor to me as I was going thru the chairs to be District Governor in Rotary District 7890.
Everett did a most creditable job managing the Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship program for many year. A large number of students benefited greatly because of Everett's efforts.
Please accept our sincere condolences.
