Jan Wiestaw Nowak

Jan Wiestaw (Stanly) Nowak, 66, of Windsor Locks, beloved husband of Marta Nowak for over 38 years, went to the loving hands of our Lord on March 21, 2013.

Jan was born in Poland on Sept. 15, 1946, and came to the United States in 1959 with his parents, brother, and sister. He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Suffield. Jan was a graduate of Windsor Locks High School, and attended college in Hartford. Jan is a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1969 to 1971 and was stationed in Germany as a computer operator. Jan was employed at Hamilton Standard in Windsor Locks for over 33 years and retired in 2012. Jan will be dearly missed.

Besides his loving wife, Jan leaves his daughter, Anna, and her husband, Jim Babiarz, of Jackman, Maine; and two sons, Robert Nowak of Suffield, and Mark Nowak of Florida; three loving grandchildren, Caleb, Joshua, Ariel Babiarz; sister, Irene, and her husband, Henryk Brzostek, of Windsor Locks; one brother, Mark, and his wife, Marianne Nowak, of Windsor Locks; Zofia, and her husband, Tom King, of Middletown; two brothers-in-law, Zigmont Pudlo, and his wife, Bozena, of Windsor Locks, and Jozef Pudlo, and his wife, Danuta, from Windsor Locks; and many nieces and nephews. Jan was predeceased by his parents, Anna and Alexsander Nowak; one brother, Wiestaw Nowak; two sisters, Alfreda Dabek and Teresa Markvszka. P.S. We all love you.

The funeral services will be Tuesday, March 26, at 9 a.m. from The Heritage Funeral Home, 1240 Mountain Road, West Suffield, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 140 S. Main St., Suffield. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, with full military honors. Friends may call at the Heritage Funeral Home today, March 25, from 4 to 7 p.m.
