Jean Cordy Obituary
She was born in New Britain on March 29, 1931, the daughter of Mary Wall and Patrick Brennan. Jean was endlessly kind, patient, and warm. Quietly strong, stubborn, and fierce, she valued her independence and lived on her own until the last few months of her life. Her passing does not come as a shock to the family, and they are relieved that her pain has ended. Her sweetness and her love for her family will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
She is predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Jim, John and Leo Brennan, Lillian Sherman, Shirley McGann, and Catherine Davidson; and her children, Colleen Martin, and Kathleen and David Cordy. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Cele and Dave Krinjak; her daughter, Barbara Quagliano; her son-in-law, Al Martin; her grandchildren, Jay and Ashley Quagliano, Amber, Courtney and Brittany Martin, and Jason, Ian, Tyler and Seth Cordy; several beloved nieces, nephews; and great-grandchildren; as well as her lifelong friend, Lauretta Coolidge.
Special thanks goes out to the hospice nurses who provided invaluable care to Jean in her final months.
Services will be held on Monday, Sept. 20, at 11 a.m., at Tierney Funeral Home in Manchester. Family and friends are invited to join for the burial to immediately follow, as well as the subsequent celebration of Jean's life at 1 p.m. at 28 Garden Grove Rd., in Manchester.

My earliest memory of Jean (I was about 5 or 6) was one day when her boyfriend (and future husband) Calvin Cordy returned home from work to his house at the end of Cedar Street. Jean walked briskly down Cedar Street toward his house to meet him. The spring in her step and the glow of her smile told me that her heart was full of joy!
