MARJORIE 'MARGE' L. JACOBS, 90 FREEPORT - Marjorie "Marge" L. Jacobs, 90, of Freeport died Friday, October 25, 2013, at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport. Born February, 9, 1923, in Freeport; she was the daughter of Clinton and Dorothy (Reeder) Metz. On July 3, 1941, she and Howard Jacobs were united in marriage in Kahoka, IA. He preceded her in death on February 26, 1993. Marge worked for Newell for almost 22 years, retiring in 1986, she then worked part-time for RestorX. She was an avid reader and attended Bethany United Church of Christ. Surviving are her son, Dennis (Susan) Jacobs of Gilbert, AZ; daughter, Linda Jacobs of Sarasota, FL; granddaughter, Tracy Jacobs; one brother, Burdett (Nancy Tessendorf) Metz of Freeport; two sisters, Jean (Charles) Bamberg and Margaret (Paul) Gitz, both of Freeport; many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; infant son, Timothy; two brothers, Clinton Jr., Kenneth; and three sisters, Madeline, Shirley, and Lois. Funeral service and visitation will be Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, starting at 10 a.m. and the service at 11 a.m., with Reverend William Blomberg officiating.
