Dean A. Kissler
June 20, 1933 - August 26, 2022
Sutton resident Dean A. Kissler, 89, passed away Friday, August 26, 2022, at his home in Sutton. Dean was born June 20, 1933, in Sutton to Andrew and Florence (Volz) Kissler.
He received his early education at country school and graduated from Sutton High School in 1950. Dean enlisted in the U.S. Army on November 3, 1953, and served until he was honorably discharged on October 25, 1955.
In February 1963, he was united in Marriage to Marietta Jirka. Dean was a lifelong farmer in Clay County. One of Dean's great passions was hunting.
He is survived by his son, Shane Kissler of Sutton; sister, LeAnne (Delno) Salmen of Lincoln; sister-in-law, Clarice Meredith of Columbus, OH; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Florence; wife, Marietta; and an infant brother, Gene.
A Rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m., Friday, September 2, 2022, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sutton. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m., with Father Doug Daro officiating. Private Inurnment will be held at the Swan Valley Cemetery near Swanton. In honoring his wish to be cremated there will not be a visitation or viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sutton. Condolences may be left at www.suttonmemorial.com
