, VI GREEN BAY - Dr. John Champion Bishop, VI, 75, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at his home. John loved his God, family and country. He was born on April 2, 1940, in Racine, WI to Helen and Gordon Bishop. John graduated from St. Catherine’s High School, Loras College and Marquette Medical School. From 1968 to 1970, John served his county in Vietnam as a Field Surgeon. He practiced as a Physician and Surgeon in the Green Bay area until his retirement. Survivors include his wife, Mary Landry Bishop; six children and their spouses: Jennifer (Benton) Chang, Wauwatosa; John Champion Bishop VII (Melina), Houston, TX; Kristina (Benjamin) Fairweather, Neenah; Stephen J. Bishop, Phoenix, AZ; Sara (Mark) Bruskiewicz, Green Bay; Ann Margaret (Kris) Tadisch, Little Suamico; a son-in-law, Scott De Vee, Florida; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary Ann (David) Nelson, Mequon, WI; Victoria (Greg) McLaughlin, Rye, NY; a brother and sister-in-law, Paul (Maureen) Bishop, Libertyville, IL; 14 grandchildren, nieces and nephews; Mary’s mother, Marie Landry O’Hern and the other members of Mary’s family. Dr. Bishop was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Shannon Bishop De Vee and his father-in-law, Thomas Landry. Friends may call at Annunciation Catholic Church, 401 Gray Street, Green Bay, from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday. The Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the church with Rev. Donald Everts officiating. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery in Racine at a later date. In lieu of flowers, his family asks that you make memorials in his name to Annunciation Parish. Dear Bishop Family
Condolences on the loss of John. I was a classmate at St Catherine's and remember John as a kind and talented young man. It does not surprise me he led a wonderful life and leaves behind a beautiful family and many friends and associates.
