Melvin Stirmel Obituary
Went to the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on December 12, 2020 at the age of 83. Mel is reunited with his wife Jackie (Weber), his brother Myron Jr. and his parents Myron Sr. and Clara Stirmel. Mel was a loving father to Jay Stirmel, Lee (Rebecca) Stirmel and Lynn (Neil) Gerke. He is survived by his grandchildren, Kyle, Dale, Jeremy, Samantha and Mitchell Stirmel and Elisabeth and Nathanael Gerke and James Bayer. Loving sister Lois resides in Georgia. He will be remembered by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Mel retired as an electrician from Mecca in Milwaukee in 1998. He loved electric trains, running them, collecting them and fixing them. He had a love of old cars especially his 1974 Roadrunner. Going to car shows was a fun pastime. Mel was always tinkering with something and listening to jazz or big band music.
Due to the current pandemic, a private service will be held at 1 PM on Friday December 18, 2020 at Woodlawn Ev. Lutheran Church with burial at Wisconsin Memorial Park immediately following. Livestream the service on Woodlawn's Facebook page. Condolences may be sent to 75 E. Fieldstone Circle #5, Oak Creek WI 53154. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to HAWS in Waukesha in his name.

I have known Mel since we worked together in 1964. He was a fun guy and always helpful willing to share knowledge and knowhow. We both liked cars. He a Chrysler guy me a Chevy guy, we had many fun days picking on each other in respectful ways. We regained contact in the recent past when we would meet for soup at Michaels and renew our interests in Lionel trains and of course cars.
I am so very sorry to learn of his passing. I extend my most sincere sympathy to his family for their loss. He was an exceptionally good man who will be missed by many.

Thank you Uncle Mel for everything you did for me during your life on earth and can't wait until I see you again. I will think of you often especially on Our birthday that we shared.
