I was sad to see this announcement. Chief Becker was a Chief to be measured by. He always wanted us to name our children Francis. Rest in peace "Uncle Howard".

Howard was my first and favorite chief I ever had throughout my career with the WFD. He used to tease me that the only reason he hand picked me out of my rookie class was because he'd heard I could play softball. it took me a little while before I could live up to his expectations. lol I always felt he was a great chief to work for. He knew how to get a job done write and also know how to handle a troop that might be having a problem. My sympathies go out to the Becker family. God now has the best Bat. Chief working for him at his side.

Howard was a man who lead by example. What he had, others wanted: Honesty, integrity, and compassion. When he spoke it was laced with wisdom and humor. I was privileged to serve with him and under him.
