Bonnie R. Hittle

WINFIELD - Hittle, Bonnie R., 84, passed away Wednesday morning, May 7, 2008 at the Riverview Manor in Oxford, Kan. Born on Nov. 4, 1923 in Winfield, Kan., she was the daughter of Wm. Frank and Catherine A. (Thirsk) Brown. She was raised and received her education in Winfield. She was united in marriage to Loyd L. Hittle on May 9, 1942 in the Hackney United Brethren Church. The couple made their home in Winfield and Bonnie was a fulltime homemaker. She also helped Loyd manage their business, Hittle Service. Mr. Hittle preceded her in death on April 9, 2007. Bonnie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winfield, the Wichita Postcard Club, the Duncan Miller Glassware Club and the Oxford Coin Club. Her hobbies included music, ponies and collecting glassware, postcards and coins. Her family includes: her son, Dennis Loyd Hittle and wife Connie of Winfield; her daughters, Nancy DeWeese and husband Max of Yukon, Okla., and Lisa Hittle of Wichita; her grandchildren, Kye, Kane and Nathan Loyd Hittle, Amy Birsinger, Danielle Howell and Amanda Deweese; and her great-grandchildren, Keegan, Harrison, Jacob and Libby Howell, Athan, Ian, Isabella and Elliott Birsinger and Lydia Grace Hittle. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sisters, Helen Jean Gann and Dorothy D. David. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M., Friday, May 9, 2008. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., that evening. A Memorial has been established in Bonnie's name for the Riverview Manor/Van Fund.
