Gary Dean Goldsmith

Goldsmith, Gary Dean 59, Gary's life began on September 9, 1958 in Wichita. He is the son of Floyd and Clara (Logsdon) Goldsmith. Gary is a 1976 graduate of Circle High School and attended Butler Community College. He was united in marriage to Sandra Jemturd on June 1, 2005 in El Dorado. Gary was retired from Wichita State University where he was a HVAC supervisor. He enjoyed his yardwork, plants and growing flowers. Gary enjoyed learning to play the guitar, reading his science fiction novels and attending Renaissance fairs. He enjoyed going to the botanical gardens, the zoo, playing miniature golf and horseshoes with family. His greatest joy was his family which includes his wife, Sandra Goldsmith of Wichita; children, Brandy (Brady) Farner of Towanda and Brian Goldsmith of Park City; grandchildren, Renee Merrick Caleb Merrick, Caden Merrick, Lennon Farner, Corey Merrick and Bella Farner; brothers, John (Donna) Goldsmith of Winfield, Steve (Nini) Goldsmith of China, Jack Goldsmith of Hutchison, Terry Goldsmith of PA., Michael (Marcia) Goldsmith of El Dorado, and Kevin Goldsmith of Topeka and several nieces and nephews. Gary passed away on April 24, 2018 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Wichita. He is preceded in death by his parents. His family will gather with friends on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 1-3 p.m. at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home where his funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. led by Pastor Rick Neubauer. He will be laid to rest in Sunset Lawns Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Gary's name may be directed to the donor's choice.
