Ralph,
I am so thankful that it worked out for you, Joanie and I to have dinner together last year when I was in Wichita. It had been so many years since I had seen either of you that it was nice to reconnect. I'm so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Joanie was a very special person to me--she was my very first niece and I was present when she was born in the back bedroom of our home at 808 Ann, Marysville, Kansas. Having gone thru cancer myself, I marveled at her tenacity. I encouraged her to fight this terrible disease, and she did, to the last. God has her now--no more pain for her anymore!

Joanie was loved very much by this uncle. The 5 years that she lived with my mom and dad, I thought of her as my little sister. We didn't see a lot of each other after I moved out, but only distance kept us apart, for she was always in my heart and always will be. She was friendly and out-going and loved people and life, and will be missed by all for some time to come.
