Kent Rosser Obituary

Rosser, Kent Edwar, 19, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday evening, May 30, 2012, in Austin, TX. Kent was born in Dallas, TX, in 1992. He then moved with his parents to Wichita, KS, in 1996, and moved to Austin, TX, in 2007, where he was working on the technical support team at Telenetwork. Kent attended Wichita Collegiate in Wichita, then attended Andover Central. In Austin, he attended Bowie High School. Wherever he lived, Kent's easy, outgoing and compassionate personality charmed everyone. That is best summed up in the hundreds of messages of condolence posted on his Facebook page. This one captures his spirit well: "Kent Rosser, was one of the nicest guys I've met. When I first came to Andover not that many people talked to me. Then I met Kent. We weren't exactly close, but we were friends. His hugs would make my bad days so much better. And I loved his laugh. For many of you that know him, you know just how amazing Kent was and how much people enjoyed being around him. I was extremely lucky to know him and call him my friend. It's crazy how people can be taken from your life so fast. Enjoy the time you have with people while you still can. RIP Kent, I'll miss you and so will many. You'll always be in our hearts." There is no sport Kent didn't love or appreciate, both as a participant and fan. He was particularly fond of the Dallas Cowboys, the Dallas Mavericks, the Texas Rangers and, much to his father's chagrin, the Texas Longhorns. Kent is survived by his parents, Cathie Rosser of Austin and Jay Rosser of Dallas; his sister, Kimberly; his grandparents, Jean and Jim Kent, and Jack Rosser, all of Dallas; his aunt and uncle, Terri and George Kent, and cousins too numerous to mention. Private graveside services will be held at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Dallas. A memorial celebration of his life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 5, in the Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church at Walnut Hill and Preston Road in Dallas, with the Reverend Paul Seelman officiating. For those so inclined, memorials in Kent's honor may be made to the American Heart Association. Harrell Funeral Home, Austin, Texas has charge.

I wish I had been lucky enough to meet Kent. He was a special guy, as I can see from the pictures, videos and his loving family and friends. He is watching over all of them now. One day we will meet, and I'll shake his hand.

I never had the pleasure of meeting this beautiful young man, but I surely do wish I had. I have known his precious mother since the day she was born and had the honor of babysitting her and her two sisters. Cathie, you know that I do know exactly how you feel and it just breaks my heart for you. I am so, so sorry. To you and your family as well as Lynda Gayle, Gloria, and their families, Chuck and I offer our deepest sympathies and our love. We will remember each of you in our whispers to Father God. Kent was my co-worker at TNI on my team in Austin.Kent was always full of life and laughter. He was always ready to help out and he was certainly an achiever. He had such and energy about him and zest for life.He will be truly missed but not forgotten by all of us. I was blessed to have known him.

Cathie

I am so sad for you and Kimberly. Your children were/are your life - - Kent left this earth knowing that he was loved and cherished by you. I still have a clear memory of when Kent and Kimberly would come to my office with you - so beautiful, so full of life. Even during the times of the divorce, your focus was always on them.

Please know that I am sending you thoughts of peace, love and compassion.
