Gladstone, Missouri - Caroline Marie Rasmussen, 35, of Gladstone, MO passed away peacefully in the evening on Tuesday, November 29th , 2022 as a result of prolonged health factors.
Caroline was born on March 3rd , 1987 to Paul and Connie Rasmussen in Kansas City, MO. Caroline attended Sherwood Autism Center until the age of 21 when she received her diploma of completion. She then served in an employee role through sheltered workshop programming for the state of Missouri.
In her adult life, Caroline provided friendship and companionship to her roommates in her supported living program. A perfect day in the life of Caroline would have included visiting Dollar General, snacking on bugle chips, and plenty of time for unhanging and rehanging up shirts in her closet. She was especially fond of the outdoors. When visited by family, she could be found swinging on the porch swing on the patio of her residence or looking out the window wishing for better weather to take a walk. In the community, Caroline's favorite things to do included shopping and attending holiday events because she loved any excuse to wear or buy a bright, new outfit.
Caroline is survived by her parents, Paul Rasmussen and Connie Fitzpatrick Rasmussen; her siblings Samuel Rasmussen and Erin Flack (Samuel), as well as many loving cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Visitation will take place at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 6th, 2022 at 9:30am, with funeral mass at 10:00am at the church. A family burial service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in St. Joseph, MO will immediately follow the funeral mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sherwood Autism Center; www.sherwoodcenter.org. Sherwood educates and empowers children and adults with autism as well as other developmental disabilities. This organization, and its employees, provided years of support and encouragement to Caroline and her family.
