Charles was a very kind man, and I worked with his wife at the University of Kansas School of Social Welfare where she ran our Edwards Campus programs. I also earned my MSW degree with her. She and Charles were great supporters of the Democratic Party in the Northland, a strong philanthropic presence in our community, and great friends of the KU Social Work Programs. I am so sorry to learn of his passing and am thinking of his children.

Charles was a distinguished, yet down to earth, friend and source of counsel to me. I join other friends and colleagues in celebrating his life and offering condolences to his loved ones.

I was a friend of Charles through our work as Missouri Democrats.
I also was a Missouri delegate in 2012 to reelect Barack Obama.
He was a true gentleman and a hard worker.
Haven't seen Charles for a number of years due to health problems. Sorry to hear of his dementia. He was a brilliant man. RIP Charles. I truly enjoyed our friendship.
