David Charles Lehman, 72, Gardner, Kan., passed away August 11, 2015, at his home, with family at his side. David was born Aug. 5, 1943, in Kansas City, Mo., to Charles Edward and Jewell (Jones) Lehman. He grew up in Olathe, graduating from Olathe High School in 1961. David married Mary Marleen Nelson December 10, 1977 in Iola, Kan. They lived in Olathe, before moving to rural Gardner in 1993. David started working at King Radio Corporation in 1963. The company was known as Honeywell, Inc. when he retired in 1999. David's employment with Honeywell was interrupted when he was a partner in Olathe Office Supply in 1972 to 1975. David enjoyed reading, woodworking, and many activities with his family, often involving horses. David had a lifelong love of animals and could often be found giving numerous treats to his beloved pets. David was a good man and will be dearly missed by family and friends. David was preceded in death by his parents, Aunt Helen and granddaughter, Isabella. He is survived by his wife of the home; children, Jeffrey Lehman and Kain Jao of Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Robin Lehman and Joel Kattner of Fayetteville, Ark., Erika Zimbelman and husband Clay of St. Francis, Kan., and Andrea Morgan and husband John of Burrton, Kan.; grandchildren, Rowan, Alexis, Wyatt and Garrett; sister, Robyn Perry and husband Allan of Westcliffe, Colo., and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. A visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, and a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, both at Bruce Funeral Home in Gardner, (913) 856-7111.
