JAMES WELKER Obituary

James Raymond Welker, 74, of Kansas City formerly of Shawnee, passed away Monday, December 6, 2010 at North Kansas City Hospital. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, December 11 at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Funeral Services will follow at the chapel. Burial will be at Johnson County Memorial Gardens in Overland Park. Jim was born March 11, 1936 to the late Earl and Esther Welker in Kansas City, Kansas. Jim graduated from Delano High School in 1955, after which he attended Kansas City Business College. Jim married Louise Kellough on August 27, 1960 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a member and Past Master of Shawnee Masonic Lodge #54; Past Monarch of Ankara Grotto; member of Beatrice Chapter, Order of Eastern Star; Past Associate Guardian of Job's Daughters, Bethel #27 and a member of Meadowbrook United Methodist Church. Jim worked for several years at his passion of selling trucks then became an accountant and retired after 25 years. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Louise, a daughter DeEtta Jacobs and husband Dennis; four granddaughters; Camille Varnum and husband Jeremy; Katherine Kleinow; Callie Jacobs; Allison Kleinow; and a great grandson Dallas Joe Weir.
