Larry Bromley Obituary

Larry Lee Bromley, age 61, of Coffeyville, KS, died Thursday, February 6, 2003, at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. Larry was born March 31, 1941, in Kansas City, MO, to Charles William and Wanda (Martin) Bromley. Following his education he served two years in the United States Army. He was discharged and returned to Coffeyville, marrying Patricia Jean Gunther on October 23, 1965, in Nowata, OK. In 1963, after serving his apprenticeship, Larry was certified as a Boilermaker. The couple lived in Iowa until moving back to Coffeyville in 1968. From 1963 until 1979, his work included traveling to different job sites, usually power plants or refineries. From 1979 until 1993, he served as President and business representative for Boilermakers Union Local 83 of Kansas City, MO. In 1993, for three years, he returned to working on job sites. He retired in 1996. His wife, Patricia, preceded him in death on March 10, 1987. On February 27, 1988, he married Kathy Marchant; they later divorced. He was a member of Grace Fellowship, Keystone Masonic Lodge and Shriners. He is survived by two daughters, Lori Hollingshead of Olathe, KS, and Larricia Bromley-Heeter of Spring Hill, KS; one brother, Bill Bromley of Coffeyville, KS; two sisters, Darlene Hildebrant of Florissant, MO, and Brenda Bromley of South Coffeyville, OK; two grandchildren, Gage Dean and Tate Ann Hollingshead; and two stepgrandchildren, Brett and Bobbie Jo Heeter. He was also preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 11, at the Ford-Wulf-Bruns Edgewood Chapel with burial in Fairview Cemetery, both of Coffeyville. Reverend Gerald Morris will officiate. Masonic graveside rites will be conducted by Keystone Lodge. Friends may call from 12 noon-9 p.m. Sunday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel. Memorials may be made Grace Fellowship or Shriners Hospitals for Children in care of the funeral home.
