ROY MILLER Obituary

Roy B. Miller, Jr., passed away Thurs., Feb. 26, 2015, in Kansas City, Mo. Born July 4, 1926, in Holden, Mo., he graduated from Holden High School in 1944, and was a U.S. Army veteran. Roy was a 65-year member of Plumbers Local 8. Maxine Salmons was married to Roy in 1948, and they had five children, Linda Day (Chuck), Shirlee Miller, Marcia Miller (deceased), Jeanne Williams (Mike) and Bernie Miller (Angie). Roy leaves behind three of four siblings, Donald Miller, Betty Mastin and Bernice Oder. He is preceded in death by father, Roy, Sr., mother, Eunice, sister, Margaret Hoffman and daughter, Marcia. He is survived by eight grandchildren, Erin Luttrell (Korey); Brian Day (Jaime); Ivan Williams (Shanan); Todd Day (Blair); Clayton Williams; Amanda Mackey (Alex); Kevin Roth; and Barrett Fera (Rick); and 10 great-grandchildren, Isabella, Ashlyn and Reese Williams; Aidan and Nova Williams; Elise, Trent and Emma Mackey; and Jeremiah and Beau Day. Roy will be remembered for his family and long career in the plumbing trade, as a boating enthusiast and fisherman who spent his free time in the Ozarks. He traveled often with his family to state parks and national monuments over the years. A graveside ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at Blackwater Cemetery, Holden, located at the intersection of NW 425th Rd and 1121st Road in rural Johnson County, Mo.
