Lydia Ortiz Obituary
1929 - 2017
Lydia Franco Ortiz, 88, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017. She was born in Waco, Tex., on July 19, 1929, the daughter of the late Samuel and Esther (nee: Vasquez) Franco. Lydia was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend.
On March 11, 1950, in the First Methodist Church, Kenosha, she was united in marriage to Fermin Perez-Ortiz who preceded her in death on Nov. 20, 2000. She was an incredible entrepreneur and business owner. She owned and operated two Hour Masterizing as well as the famous El Coqui Restaurant in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. She had a passion for cooking and bringing happiness to people with her food. Lydia loved having family and friend gatherings.
Surviving are her children, Linda Johnson, of Sturtevant, David (Kathleen) Perez, of Pleasant Prairie, Edward (Lydia Ayala) Perez, of Puerto Rico, and Monica (Frankie) Narvaez, of Mt. Pleasant; 10 grandchildren, Ronald Jr. (Andrea) Johnson, Michael Johnson, Zachary Perez, Rachael (Paul) Wickersheim, Monica Perez, Francesca Narvaez, Alex Narvaez, Ana (Luis) Masso, Melissa Perez, Samuel "Ricky" (Mary) Perez Jr.; 12 great grandchildren; and sister, Beatrice Metallo. In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Mrs. Ortiz was preceded in death by her son, Samuel Perez Sr., son-in-law Ronald Johnson Sr., brothers, Moses, Joseph, Santana, and Rueben Franco, and sister, Amelia Macias.
Her funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, Sept. 18, at 12 noon, with Dr. Rev. Warren Williams officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Kenosha.

We speak of Lydia quite often. She was such a fun loving woman. We sure enjoyed her family we felt like family with all our gatherings. Especially Linda Johnson.
