Charles Serafini Obituary

SERAFINI Charles Raymond, 86, of Woodford County, died Mon, March 19, 2007 at his residence. Mr. Serafini served as a World War II veteran in the 3702nd AAF from Feb 1942 to Jan 1946. He received medals for Good Conduct, American Campaign, and World War II Victory for his services. He also received an American Theatre Ribbon. He was a qualified carbine sharpshooter and pistol marksman. Mr. Serafini was a graduate of Kentucky Business College, a Kentucky Colonel, and retired from the United States Postal Service after 26 years of service. He was a moderator and deacon of his beloved Clear Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Serafini was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille, and his parents, Charles Joseph and Minnie Serafini. Survivors include his sons, Joe (Connie) Serafini, Jim (Linda) Serafini, and Chris (Ginger) Serafini; his best friend and companion, Janet Cummins; grandchildren, Angie Serafini, Chris (Dena) Serafini, Amy (Anthony) LaMarca, Joe (Ally) Serafini, Ryan (Sybil) Serafini, Jason (Becky) Serafini, Brad (Cassie) Serafini, Rachael Serafini, and Adam Serafini; great grandchildren, Alyssa, Brooke, Michael, Alysa, Austin, Hayley, and Lucianna; siblings, Virginia Goins, Bill Serafini, Betty Wells; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was also preceded in death by Flo Serafini. Funeral services will be 2:30pm Thu at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. by Bro. Tom Hinkle. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Chris, Joe, Ryan, Jason, Brad and Adam Serafini. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles McMillan, Steven Cummins, Mike Perry, Steve Hinkle, Richard Thacker, Greg Anderson, Brad Darland, Steve Pastor, Bill Robinson, Don Drury, and Charles Robinson. Visitation will be 5-8:30pm Wed. Donations may be made to Clear Creek Baptist Church, 30 Pinckard Pike, Versailles, KY 40383 or Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Dr, Lex., KY 40504.

Jim, Chris and Joe, I'm so very sorry to hear about your Dad. I loved him as if he were my family. I know we are not to question why we lose someone, but because he was such a kind and gentle man, I do ask why. He will be greatly missed. Love, Stephanie
