Elizabeth Hammond Obituary

GEORGETOWN - Elizabeth "Beth" Hammond, 52, born Feb 2, 1955, passed from this life to life eternal, on Thu, June 28, 2007 at U.K. Medical Center. Beth battled courageously with Hodgkin's disease and lung cancer for years. Her fight was an inspiration to all. Beth was saved and was baptized at Long Lick Baptist Church and was a member of Harmony Christian Church in Georgetown. She was a Register Nurse, and had worked at Georgetown Internal Medicine, U.K. Medical Center and St. Joseph Hospital. She was a greatly devoted and loving nurse and was always dedicated to her patients. Beth is the daughter of Virginia Jett Riffee of Georgetown, KY and John Hammond of Frankfort, KY. She was a very loving and devoted mother to two daughters; Alexandria Jett Weiser and Elizabeth Jade Weiser, both of Georgetown. She is also survived by a brother, Dave Hammond and his wife Kay of Pikeville, KY, an uncle, Bill (Phyllis) Jett of Lexington, KY, an aunt, Martha Tolson of Frankfort, KY, a special brother, Mark Riffee of Florida and special sisters, Chris Riffee Arcario, of Florida and Sherry Shaeffer Smith of Ohio. She was preceded in death by a beloved step father Murray Riffee. Funeral services will be 11am, Mon, July 2, 2007 at Harmony Christian Church, 170 Southgate Drive, Georgetown, KY (the old Wal-mart) with Pastor Dean Scott and Pastor David Hammond officiating. Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery with Pallbearers being; Family and Friends. Honorary bearers will be life long and special friends: Pam Gibson, Vickie Moore, Susan Neasham, Linda Taylor, Peggy Howard, Lynn Hensley, Rosemary Price, Barbara Towles, Diane Gibson, Brenda Green, Teresa Maggard, Cecilia Jackson, Cathy Hill, Darlene Wise, Danielle Rogers and Chris Winn. Visitation will be Sun, July 1 at Harmony Christian Church from 2-6:30pm. Arrangements made with Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral. www.tuck eryocumwilson.com
