I trained under Dr. Xie as a cardiology fellow from 2003-2007. For me, Dr. Xie was more than a great mentor. His passion for teaching, pleasant personality, and sense of humor made him very close to me and all fellows in training. We considered him a big brother. His legacy will forever live among us through the knowledge he shared and the fun moments during rounds and teaching conferences. Rest in peace Dr. Xie, you will be missed terribly by all who had the privilege of knowing you.
