Henry Bain Obituary

NICHOLASVILLE - Henry Lloyd Bain, 77, husband of 56 years to Margaret Christine Murphy Bain, Beechwood Drive Nicholasville lost his struggle with cancer and passed away on Thurs., April 14, 2005. Lloyd was the first son born to the late Robert William and Bessie Irene Canter Bain on Feb. 7, 1928. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served his country honorably until being discharged in1946. He provided for his family mainly through hard work and perseverance as a tobacco farmer in his beloved Cream Ridge section of Jessamine County and as an employee of The Jessamine County School System. Additional survivors are four sons: Ronald (Frances) Bain, David (Sharon) Bain, Lee (Betsy) Bain and Robert Bain all of Nicholasville, two daughters: Patricia (Sherman) Hatter of Nancy and Carolyn (Sonny) Burgin of Nicholasville, nineteen grandchildren, Amy, Keith, Jason, Jesse, Daniel, Melissa, Tammy, Stephen, Christina, Tabitha, Christopher, Rebecca, April, Josh, Brandy, Johnny Ray, Haylee, Douglas and Michael, nineteen great grandchildren and three brothers, Herbert, Welburn and James Bain. Preceding him in death along with his parents were two brothers, Gene Allen and Carlton Bain, two sisters Anna Mae Broadus and Noretta West Burgan. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Sun., April 17, 2005 at Betts and West Funeral Home, 404 N. Main, Nicholasville, KY with services at 12:30 pm Mon., April 18, 2005 at the funeral home with Rev. Lee Taylor officiating and burial in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Don Vickers, Clellie Burch, Joe Peel, Jim Gay, John Carr, Bobby Parks and Sonny Burgin. Honorary bearers are all his coffee drinking buddies from Hardees and Arbys. Memorials suggested to Hospice of The Bluegrass. Guestbook at Legacy.com

Lloyd Bain we all miss you and all the great times that came along! I miss the funny faces and the jokes you always knew how to cheer me up! I'll never forget that about you! I hope you're having a blast up there bc i can't wait to see you again!!! Even though you weren't my grandfather I took you as my own! We all love you!!!

Lloyd had a way to make me laugh every time we met. He shared a joke or a story about the "Old Times" of life down on Cream Ridge and Little Hickman. How he loved to go metal detecting for old coins. I had the opportunity to go with him once. I will miss him.
