VERSAILLES - Dr. Japheth Osia Jaoko, 46, husband of Marcela Adikiny Jaoko n‚e Odindo, passed away Monday, May 8, 2017 at Baptist Health in Lexington, KY. Jaoko was born in Nairobi, Kenya, the son of the late Samuel Jaoko and Mary Jaoko n‚e Oduol. He attended Pan Africa Christian University, Asbury Theological Seminary and earned his PhD from University of Texas at Arlington in 2005. Jaoko was a Social Work Professor at Campbellsville University, Campbellsville KY. Jaoko was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings the late Frank Jaoko, the late Fred Jaoko and the late Alice Jaoko. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Marcela Adikiny Jaoko, his children, Jabali Osia Jaoko, Zawadi Adikiny Jaoko, siblings, Prof. Walter Jaoko, Elisheba Jaoko, Nerea Nalo, Patrick Jaoko and Jacob Jaoko. Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at St. Andrew's Anglican Church, 115 Paddock Drive, Versailles, KY. Visitation will begin at 10am prior to the service. Graveside service and burial will take place at 11am on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Ridgeway Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, TX, 75013. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society, Hospice of the Bluegrass or Markuny Primary School in Sidindi, Kenya (Dr. Jaoko's rural home).
