Kaye Frankel

1933 - 2017

FRANKEL Kaye Francis Goldberg was born in Lexington on March 16, 1933 to the late Sam Goldberg and Esther Rosenberg Goldberg. She was a graduate of Layfette High School and the University of Kentucky. While at UK she was Panhellenic President and graduated in 1955 with a degree in Home Economics. She married Harold David Frankel the same year on June 19th. She had four children in as many years. She was a lifelong member of Temple Adath Israel and was involved with their sisterhood. She also participated with several garden clubs and volunteered for many organizations including the MS Society. She worked with her husband at his pharmacy, Frankel Drugs, for many years and she was employed as an Activity Therapist at Good Samaritan hospital until her retirement. Her passions included arts and crafts, and gardening, especially the growing of herbs and flowers. She entered many contests for her herb vinegars and prize irises. Harold and Kaye retired to Mason, Ohio in 2010 where she passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 18, 2017. She is survived by her four children, Sharon Frankel Yokelson (Kenneth), Atlanta, Georgia; Greg Frankel (Ann), Mason, Ohio; Bill Frankel (Hagit), Israel, and Patti Frankel Dutton (the late Clifford), England. Also, her sister, Connie Robin, Los Angeles, California and several cousins, niece and nephews. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Joe, Sam, Molly, and Jake Frankel, Jonathan Yokelson, Hannah and Aaron Dutton, and Yuval and Omri Frankel. The funeral will be Tuesday, May 23 at 1pm at Milward Funeral Home, 159 North Broadway, Lexington, Kentucky 40507. Visitation will be from 11am to 1pm. Graveside service at 2:30pm at Lexington Cemetery, 833 W Main St, Lexington, KY 40508.
