Coach Billy Hicks and Mrs. Hicks-

I am deeply saddened to hear of the loss of your loving son Tyler. My lasting memory of Tyler is his final high school basketball game in March 2004 at Rupp Arena. Prior to leaving the court, he knelt down and kissed the floor at center court vividly displaying his love for Kentucky high school basketball and the game itself.

Please know that the thoughts and prayers of many are with you.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of Tyler Hicks, a former student of mine at Bluegrass Community College and at the University of Kentucky. Tyler was such a good person, a determined person. He came to me last to ask for assistance in joining the military. I know he will be missed by many. May angels surround Tyler, and saints welcome him in peace. Let light perpetual shine upon him.
