William CHEEK

CHEEK William Joseph was born the third child of Mayse and Thelma Holcomb Cheek, Oct 18, 1928 in Commerce, GA. He passed away at the age of 82, Sat, Oct 30, 2010 at the Central Baptist Hospital Palliative Care Center. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Ann McEndre Cheek, daughters Denise (Jim) Turnbow, Diane (Jack) Wharton, both of California, and stepson Michael Reynolds, Lexington. Also surviving are two grandchildren Ashley (James) McAlpin, William Justin Cheek and a great-granddaughter Katelynn McAlpin; a brother, Larry (Eileen) Cheek, MI, sister-in-law, Carol Cheek, FL and brother-in-law Rand (Barbara) McEndre, Lexington; several nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, son William Dana Cheek, brother and sister-in-law, Lamar Cheek and Mary Cheek and sister and brother-in-law Maysie and Don Faubion. Bill was among the first employees of Alltech in 1981 and served as Vice President more than 30 years, he was an avid golfer, Kentucky Colonel, University Fellow and member of the LAPD and Beverly Hills, CA police departments from 1951-1958. He was a personal injury insurance adjuster and agency owner from 1958-1970 and attended Compton Jr College, Compton, CA receiving an Associate of Arts degree and attended the Loyola School of Law. He was a U.S. Naval veteran 1945-1949 and life member of Navy League of U.S. and the American Legion. All services will be private. Arrangements by Milward-Broadway.
