Katie Virginia Antwine Sasser

KINSTON - Katie Virginia Antwine Sasser, 95 of Kinston passed away at home on the morning of July 9, 2018. She retired with 45 years of service at Albain Shirt Company. She was an active member of Rivermont Holiness Church in Kinston; she loved her church family and had strong faith in God. She treasured her big family and was a very patient, happy person who loved life. She was a wonderful cook, loved sewing, quilting, crocheting, planting flowers and shopping. Katie was preceded in death by her parents, Judge Bynum Antwine and Nannie Heath Antwine and her thirteen siblings. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Earl Sasser, Sr.; three children, Pauline Braxton, Frances Alphin and Allen Sasser; two sons-in-law, Earl Alphin and Jimmy Braxton; two grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Survivors include her daughters, Margaret Sanderson and husband Hobert, Kathy Cauley and husband Bryan; sons, Raymond Sasser, Jr. and wife Gladys, James Sasser and wife Janice and Billy Sasser and wife Vicky; daughter in law Georgie Sasser; 18 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. A big family that will miss her until we meet again. Funeral services will be held at Howard-Carter Funeral Home at 1:00 pm Thursday, July 12, 2018 with visitation one hour prior to the service. A graveside will follow the service at Westview Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Aseracare Hospice.
