Ruby Turner Jackson

KINSTON - Ruby Turner Jackson, 82, of Kinston, went to be with her heavenly father Monday, September 18, 2017. She passed away peacefully at home. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with the Reverend Paul Rigsby officiating. Visitation will follow after the service. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 21, 2017, at Pinelawn Memorial Park. Ruby was very devoted to her family and friends. She had a love for cooking, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved the Lord and wanted everyone else too. She was a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church for many years. She worked at Albain Shirt Factory for over 25 years. She then worked at Howell's Child Care for about ten years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wade Hamp Tilghman, Sr. and Ruby Constance Clark Tilghman; brother, Wade Hamp Tilghman, Jr. (Buddy); sisters, Dorothy Cooke, Mary Leclair, Shirley Clark, and Hilda Banks; and granddaughter, Stephanie Lynn Whaley. Left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Mildred Marie Jenkins; sons, Thomas Earl Turner and wife Pat, Victor Wade Turner, and Gregory Lee Turner; brother, Bill Tilghman and wife Joyce; sisters, Delia Alcock and Nettie Tilghman, all of Kinston. She was blessed with nine loving grandchildren, Michael Whaley, Cheryl Mead, Laura Eason, Brandie Thompson, Adam Turner, Jonathan Turner, Craig Turner, Chris Turner, and Adrian Tuner. She would joyfully brag about her 15 great-grandchildren. She also had a very special friend, Eddy Moody, of Kinston.
