Marian Louise Smith, age 93, of Knoxville, TN, and former resident of Florida, Michigan and Georgia, passed away quietly with her family on Wednesday, March 15, 2017. Marian was a member of New Covenant Fellowship. In her lifetime, she had several interests including sewing, ceramics, camping, raising parakeets, weaving, and crocheting. She also had a gift for caring for babies, especially those who needed special love. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, William Jay Smith; parents, William and Olive Bryde; children, Wiliam Darryl and Beverly Ruth; and a great-grandson, Timothy Porcella. She is survived by children, Faye Smith Porcella and husband Russ Porcella, Yvonne Smith Stobart and her husband Edward Stobart; grandchildren, Tina Mayes, Heather Porcella, Tammy Helton, Charlotte Joiner, Stephanie Wagner, Carla Hubbard, Bernard Roark, James Porcella and Brandon Roark. Additional survivors include many great-grandchildren and other family members.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, March 19, 7:00 p.m. at New Covenant Fellowship, Pastor Russ Porcella officiating. Friends will meet at 10:45 a.m., Monday, March 20 at Woodhaven Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. interment. Receiving of friends will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday at New Covenant Fellowship, 6828 Central Avenue Pike, Knoxville, TN 37918.
