Philadelphia, TN
Michelle "Missy" Thornburg Hope, age 46, of Philadelphia, passed away suddenly Saturday, October 17, 2015. Michelle was a member of Philadelphia First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Loudon High School Class of 1987 and ETSU School of Nursing class of 1992. Michelle worked as a labor and delivery nurse at Park West Hospital for 16 years, bringing comfort and humor to expectant mothers. Most recently she was employed by Premier Surgical of Knoxville. Michelle was a devoted mother to both of her boys. She was a dedicated "Baseball Mom" and amateur photographer.
Michelle was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Sue (Hill) Thornburg; and father-in-law, Lowell Hope. She is survived by her husband, Scott Hope; and cherished sons, Cam and Cade (Hooch) Hope; mother-in-law, Lucille Hope; aunts and uncles, Glen and Janice Hill, Jim and Sherry Hill, Marin Bilderback, Betty McKenzie; and numerous beloved cousins.
Services honoring and remembering Michelle will be held 7:00 PM, Tuesday, October 20, at the Philadelphia First Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Courtney officiating. The Loudon High School baseball team will serve as pallbearers. Contributions in memory of Michelle may be made to the Philadelphia First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 45, Philadelphia, Tennessee 37846. Interment: 11:00 AM, Wednesday in the Loudon County Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 3:00-7:00 PM, Tuesday, prior to the service at the Philadelphia First Baptist Church, 606 Church Street, Philadelphia. Scott, Cam, & Cade,
I am so sorry. I will miss seeing her on Rausin Rd. & around Philadelphia. She was such a sweet person & ever since I was little girl she was so sweet me. God called an Angel home on Saturday. She use to talk to me about how much she missed her parents but they are now together again. My heart breaks for you Scott & those boys. So if you need anything we are just right down the road. All 3 of you will be in my prayers.

Scott, I am so sorry for your and the boys loss. I worked with her when she first came to Parkwest, not long after she graduated from nursing school. She was funny and sweet and had the best sense of humor. I know your hearts are broken and I will keep you in my prayers. Michelle was all sparkle and joy, she was truly a gift to all who knew her.
