Mr. Sylus Walker Jr., age 85, of Halls, TN, was born February 20, 1933 to his parents Sylus Sr. and Flora Walker. He passed away peacefully at his home of September 20, 2018 with his loving family by his side.
He retired from Ford Motor Company in 1990 after working 33 ½ years. He loved hunting, fishing and gardening. After living and working in Michigan and Ohio for 50 years he came back home to Tennessee. He was a member of the Emory Valley Missionary Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa.
He is preceded in death by his :
Parents, Step mother, and one step brother, one step sister, two brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his:
Wife: Wanda G. Neely Walker
Son: Lowell Dean and wife Analise Walker
Granddaughter: Shauna Alise Walker
Grandson: Shay Thomas Walker and Starr Huml
Great Granddaughter: Faith Huml all of Knoxville, TN
Sisters: Margaret Young of Morristown, TN
Priscilla Walton of New Tazewell, TN
Brother: David Walker and wife Gladys of Westland, MI
One step sister and one step brother
Several nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Sunday, September 23, 2018 from 1 PM till 3 PM with funeral services to follow at 3 PM in the Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Nicely and Rev. Dale Parker officiating. Music will be provided by Linda Nicely.
Graveside services will be held Monday, September 24, 2018 at 11AM in the Fairview Cemetery.
