Brian "Unkie" Lueck
LA CROSSE - Brian "Unkie" Lueck, born June 3, 1960, passed away unexpectedly on May 13, 2024, but it wasn't all the pie, crappy beer, or loose living that got him after all. Instead, he had an accident during a fishing trip with his brothers, which probably would have been in his top five ways to go anyway. We can't talk about the other preferred ways in polite company, we're sure you can understand.
Brian was a man larger than life, and we can still see and feel that in the sound of motorcycle pipes being driven in his honor, the size of his garden, and the beautiful outpouring of love and support his family has been offered over these past few days. His baby radar was uncanny, and he could often be found holding one regardless of whether or not he knew the baby, the family, or had any form of permission.
We know many will continue to feel the gap he leaves in our lives as they pick up their phones to try to call him, because he was "the guy" who was always there ready to help, fix, listen, deliver, donate, rescue, and defend. There were other services he offered too, but we'll keep those on the downlow. Again, if you know you know.
We are proud to share that his generous act of organ donation was also carried out shortly after his death, and we are thankful that circumstances allowed for this to take place.
Brian/Unkie is survived by a herd of friends and family who cannot possibly all be named, and he always said that once in the herd, always in the herd. He spent his life with brother David; sister-in-law Arlene; and chosen daughters: Andrea (Ross), Stephanie, and Teresa (Mike); along with bonus daughter, Tiffaney; and the most favorite of all - chosen granddaughter ,Lily. He also leaves behind siblings: Robert (Julie), Allen, Debby, Vicky, Cheryl (Joel), Kevin, and Becky; and godchildren: Andrea, Aaron, and Aimee. There's a bunch more of you, we know, but we're out of room. Unk would tell you to get over it.
Unkie hated funerals and sad sack stuff, so instead we're throwing a party. Please come not be sad with us on Friday, May 24, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at The Gathering Place in Onalaska and wear your best Harley, Sturgis, or not formal attire.
Finally, we would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to the staff at both the Lakeside Bar in Chetek and the staff at Mayo in Eau Claire. We were a lot, thanks for everything.

Best obit I have ever read - I would love to have known this dude. Wait. What am I saying? I feel like I did know him... little bits of every man I have ever loved, all rolled into one stellar human being. My deepest sympathy to those who did know him, and since he hated sad sack stuff, I'll leave at that. My heart goes out to you. Stay strong and keep this amazing Rock of a Man in your hearts forever. Just take a look at the moon tonight... your guy is nearby in spirt.

Grew up with his brother in law(Judd) and got to be part of many boys only camping weekends with Brian and all the Lueck boys. Wildest group of brothers I've ever met, Brian being the wildest! But such a kind soul and nice guy at heart. To all the Luecks my condolences. I'll miss seeing Brian fly by me on the Harley this summer, a hair tie holding his beard somewhat down in the wind.
