Robert J. Giove

ROBERT J. GIOVE Age 84, Passed away recently at his home on Harbour Island in Oxnard, California. Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Bob relocated to California in 1953, and made California his home until his passing. He had a full life of accomplishments, retiring as the President, CEO, and Chairman of the Board of Janco Corporation. A hig hly respected and recognized aerospace/electronics manufacturing firm in Burbank, California where he called "employment" for forty-six years. He was affectionately referred to as "Mr. G". Among his greatest achievements was to form one of the first true "Employee Stock Ownership Plans", (ESOP) in the country, wherein the employees owned the controlling interest in their own company. Any Janco employee who was a recipient of the new concept of an ESOP and its benefits can attest to its total success - "An American Dream Come True".... Bob also served on numerous notable boards of directors, as a trustee and board member, such as Burbank Community Hospital and National Jewish Hospital at Denver. He was also an accomplished pilot, and his own corporate pilot. He flew to all parts of the country on a regular basis, cultivating an extensive national and international network of manufacturer representatives/ distributers. "IPP" (International Precision Products), was his European Network for over 25 years. Bob was also the chief engineer for many of the products originally manufactured. Bob eventually retired and moved to Harbour Island, and became active in PCYC (Pacific Corinthian Yacht Club), where he enjoyed his true fondess of the sea. Acquiring a tug boat, named "Sea Turtle". He spent many fun times with son Trace, grandchildren, Morgan (9), Trevor (12) and numerous on-board guests. He touched and enhanced many lives and will be remembered and admired by many, but particularly - his be loved son Trace Giove; grandchildren, Trevor and Morgan; loving sister, Dorothy Grangaard; and nephew, Dan Grangaard. He will be greatly missed! In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society.
