Maria Louisa Albertini "Mary Louise" Douglas

Maria Louisa 'Mary Louise' Albertini Douglas was 90 years of age at the time of her death, March 4. She died at her home in Jellico. Mary was born, January 12, 1926 in Jellico. She was the daughter of Minnie Elliott Albertini and Italian immigrant, Albert Albertini.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Joseph Albertini; Johnnie Albertini; Margaret Albertini Chadwell; Frank Albertini; Charlie Albertini; Katie Albertini Elmore; Matilda Albertini Cantrell; Pete Albertini; Angelina Dola Albertini Halburnt; Tony Albertini and J. B. Albertini.
Mary was the youngest of the Albertini family. Mary worked at Oak Ridge in support of our troops during World War II. She married World War II veteran, Clifford C. Douglas on July 3, 1948. After her marriage, she became a stay at home wife and mother, who loved to work in her garden and her flowers. Mary was always active in her church and her children's school activities. She was a big sports fan, especially of the University of Tennessee and loved nothing better than a good auction or yard sale.
Mary is survived by her husband of 67 years, Clifford C. Douglas of Jellico; children, Linda Gail Douglas Garrett and husband, Steve Garrett of Jellico; Michael Douglas and Bran Jaeger Campbell of Chattanooga; Phyllis Ann Douglas Stiner and husband, Mike Stiner of Gainsville, Ga.; Davey Douglas and wife, Debbie Parks Douglas of Jellico and Tony Douglas and wife, Carol Moses Douglas of Gallatin.
Grandchildren, Ashley Douglas Johnson; Amber Douglas; Ann Stiner Cave; Doug Stiner; Daniel Douglas; Laura Douglas Creekmore; Emily Douglas and Eric Douglas.
Great-grandchildren, Vivian Johnson; Eve Cave; Benjamin Cave; Mae Stiner; Leia Stiner; Grey Stiner; John Creekmore and Caroline Creekmore. Mary also leaves special friends and longtime caregivers, Eva Chambers; Mary Ann Brewer; Shirley Yancy and Sharon Hamblin. These ladies have always provided her with the best of care and during this last week under hospice care, one or more of them has been at her side both day and night.
Services were held March 7 in the Llewellyn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doug Clem officiating. Interment was in Jellico Cemetery with Rev. Joel Crawford conducting. Llewellyn Funeral Home of Jellico was in charge of arrangements.
