Abrehet Gebreegziabher Obituary
She came to the United States in 1994, and has been living with her son Gabriel, his wife Meaza and their two kids Elizabeth and Michael in Waukegan, IL.
She was a loving mother of seven children, Kidane, Mihret, Abeba, Hiwet, Mary (Lettensie), Redae (Steve) and Gabriel Alemu. Beloved Grandmother of 38 children and 10 great-grandchildren.
She raised seven children after the death of her husband Alemu Yilma, who died more than fifty years ago, in Asmara, Ethiopia. She was the foundation stone, spur and spiritual leader of her family. She will be missed unbearably but she will live in spirit in everyone's heart forever.
Special thanks to Claridge Care & Rehabilitation Center of Lake Bluff, IL employees, where she stayed in her last few years, for giving her the best care possible.
Funeral Services will be held at 9:00 A.M., Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at Debresieon Medehanialem Ethiopian Orthodox Church, 9805 S. Commercial Avenue, Chicago, IL. Father Michael Tafese, Officiating. Interment will be at North Shore Garden of Memories Cemetery, North Chicago, Illinois. Arrangements by Bradshaw & Range Funeral Home, 2513 Dugdale Road, Waukegan, IL. Gabriel and Meaza,Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family. Terri and I have fond memories of your mother watching Elizabeth and Micheal for hours playing in the front yard just enjoying life.
