George was a class act, a true gentleman who knew how to treat people. He was fun, articulate, very intelligent, and very down to earth, and friendly. Thank God he wanted to serve. Nevada County is better for his ability and willingness.

George was a mentor for me and my many businesses for years. He was a sincere City father who eventually had to leave his post as treasurer of Nevada City, as he told me the day he quit, due to certain "issues" he could not tolerate.
He once drove to Tahoe for a big financial meeting to vouch for my business acumen. He often went out of his way to help his friends. Rest In Peace old friend. You will be missed.
