Willa Simpson Obituary

Willa M. Simpson (nee Reed), 80, of North Chicago, passed away at Vista East Medical Center in Waukegan on April 30, 2015, surrounded by her family. Willa was born in Indianola, MS. on October 27, 1934. She retired as a Civil Service employee after more than 20 years of service. She was a member of Emblem Chapter #140 Order of the Eastern Stars, a member of Queen of Peace Church in North Chicago, and loved to bowl, fish, crochet, and work in her garden. Willa is survived by her son Edward Simpson of Aurora, IL., two granddaughters; Sharhonda Walker and Michaela Stambaugh, four great grandchildren, one brother, Henry Reed, five sisters; Ann Pope, Margaret Boles, Yvonne Holiday, Jamila El Min, and Maria Davis, one aunt, Lovell Glenlick, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband Eddie L. Simpson, one son, Michael Simpson, and her parents, LaVerne and Henry Reed. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, May 8, 2015, at 10:00 am, at Queen of Peace Church, 910 14th Street, North Chicago, IL. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 7, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Bradley Funeral Home, 313 10th Street, North Chicago, IL.
