Hardrick McGuire Obituary
Deacon Hardrick McGuire was raised in Lake City, Florida and graduated from Richardson High School in 1955. On July 25th, 1976, he married Flossie Jefferson. They were a Godly-Loving couple who stood with one another through thick and thin.
Deacon McGuire was a member of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, Lake City, Florida, where he served for many many years as a Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. He also served as the Recording Secretary for Suwannee River Progressive Missionary Baptist Association (S.R.P.M.B.A) and President for Ministers, Deacons, and Laymans Union #1 Auxiliary to S.R.P.M.B.A.
Deacon Hardrick McGuire went from Sharecropper to Mechanical Engineer (Welder/Entrepreneur). He retired from Packaging Corporation of America formally known as Owens-Illinois. He opened McGuire Welding in 1964 where he was the owner and operator until he closed in 2024.
Left to sustain his legacy, his loving and dedicated wife of 48 years, Flossie J. McGuire, his union with Flossie brought together: sons, Bardrick McGuire (Hope), Hope Mills, NC, Chuckie McGuire, Sr. (Jacqueline), Crownsville, MD, Tommy McGuire, Lake City, FL, Roy Givens, Lake City, FL, Ellsworth McGuire, Sr. (Heather), Lake City, FL, Warren McGuire, Fairfield, CA, Madris McGuire, Lee Summit, MO, Tyrell Givens, Portland, OR; daughters, Linda Holliday, Lee Summit, MO, Debbie Givens, Lake City, FL; goddaughter, Alcia Hardy (James), Gainesville, FL; 19 grandchildren; 23 great- grandchildren; sister-in-law, Linda Jefferson; brothers-in-law, Morris Paige (Sue), Vernon Paige (Wanda); cousins, Mary Alice Jefferson, Deacon Haywood McGuire; and a host of other relatives, friends, customers, and family to cherish his memory.
Deacon Hardrick McGuire's Life and Legacy will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Olivet Missionary Baptist Church, 541 NE Davis Ave., Lake City, FL.
Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2024, at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, 444 SW Birley Ave, Lake City, FL.
