Celia Huerta Perez
May 9, 1946 - June 18, 2024
Celia was born May 9, 1946 in Buena Vista, Michoacan, Mexico to Jesus and Socorro (Perez) Huerta. She passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Mercyhealth Hospital and Medical Center-Walworth.
Celia could be described by family and friends as hard working, funny, friendly, caring, altruistic, and a great hostess. She loved cooking for people and would always make the effort to find out your favorite dish and have it ready for you when you visit her again.
She loved flowers, cooking, caring for her family, and enjoyed traveling to her hometown in Mexico. She enjoyed working at The Abbey Resort for over 30 years, where she made a lot of friends. Her unconditional love for her grandchildren was always evident and admirable.
Celia is survived by her husband, Luis; children: Luis (Reina) Huerta, Judith (Timothy) Roberts, Celia Huerta, Consuelo (Eduardo) Nunez, and Erika Cooper; grandchildren: Emanuel (Rachel) Huerta Gutierrez, Agustin Huerta, Isabel Huerta, Timo Roberts, Ralph Roberts, Eric Nunez, Kayla Nunez, Akil Cooper, and Kadin Cooper; great-grandchildren: Viviana Huerta, Genevieve Huerta and Matías Ortíz; and sisters: Maria Luisa (Salvador) Perez, Rafaela (Crispin) Huerta Perez, Margarita Huerta Perez, and M. Soledad Huerta Perez. She was close to her sisters-in-law whom she loved dearly: Maria, Agustina, Rosa and Angelica. She is also survived by a large and loving family throughout the United States and Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers: Jose and Sergio.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 28, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 148 West Main St., Lake Geneva. Interment of her ashes will take place at a later date at Calvary Cemetery in West Chicago, IL.
We would like to thank the Mercyhealth Medical Hospital-Walworth Emergency Department and second floor inpatient providers and nursing staff for all the care they provided as she transitioned in her last few days of life.
Agradecemos a parientes y amigos que visitaron y acompanaron a Celia en sus ultimos días . Ella sintio esa energía positiva y carino de todos aquellos que estuvieron con ella. Infinitas gracias.
